Pregnancy & Postpartum Resources

Perinatal Mental Health (PMH) conditions are the number one complication of childbearing, affecting a significant number of birthing persons. Studies show that 1 in 4 Alaskans may experience depression and anxiety during the perinatal period, though these numbers are likely higher, especially for high-stress parenting groups. These conditions include perinatal depression, perinatal anxiety, postpartum psychosis, postpartum obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), perinatal bipolar disorder, and perinatal panic disorder. Early identification and treatment of these disorders are crucial for the well-being of both the birthing person and the family.
